Sakura Character Spotlight

     We always want that really strong or beautiful looking girl or maybe that new one coming out the next event but would those be the only reasons to add tem in our harem? With a campaign now that gives a bonus to the girls in the same region, we can tell that theres more to a flower knight than just her stats and pretty face. That has compelled me into making a character spotlight so we can learn more about our precious girls than just what we see at face value. Today I'll be introducing the first character for spotlight which is the first rainbow I have ever gotten and my long time trusty right-hand knight, Sakura!


     Sakura(サクラ) in english is 'Cherry Blossom' and her flower meaning in the game is "Sugureta Bijin" or Exceptional Beauty. While she says that is definitely her meaning and is called that, she thinks otherwise on why she would be the one named after that. She hails from Blossom Hill and her classification is rosaceae(バラ科). She is of Magic attribute and her favorite present is cakes. Her Hp begins at 1600 and ends with 10200 fully leveled up. With 100% affection, it is 13080(2880). Her attack power starts at 810 with the ending result of 4920. Full♥ at 6648(1728). Defense introduced at 460 reaching a max of 1840 or 2560(720). Her moveability is at a slow 335 which makes her the slowest 6 star girl ever. She has the, Majuuhou • Sakura Fubuki, skill that does a devastating shot which blasts through a single enemy doing 3x the damage she normally deals. Witnessing that skill definitely made me want her and easily brings fear into the pest's eyes. Her first ability raises all party members atk by 15%. Her after evolution ability is almost the same thing in which it rises the atk power of all the members by 20% but only in RaidBoss warfare. Sakura is an attack powerhouse and influences the rest of her team to do stronger attacks as well, especially against Raid Bosses.
     Her illustration is drawn by TAKTO who has also done other high rarity girls. Her hair is the color of her flower, cherry blossoms, and she has a single braid which reaches quite a distance behind her head. She wears a lightly armored pirate coat with military-like cap/beret and duel wields two pirate looking long pistols. Underneath her coat, she seems to be wearing a yukata of some kind and that is confirmed when you see her evolved state. Her two color eyes, peach on her right and olive on her left, undeniably make her really unique as it clearly stands out on her normal and sprite design. Her evolved form sheds her pirate coat and hat to unveil a pieced out yukata, symbolizing the peak of her bloom, and is ready to be trigger happy. Her yukata design is a mix of purple to pink and covered with cherry blossom flowers on all of her peices. They cloth the front of her top torso, leaving her abdomen uncovered while sporting a sort of half skirt and a stylish belt. Her arm sleeves allow her to dance beautifully like an angel in battle(thus her hana kotoba, sugureta bijin) along with her pistols already firing off an explosion, just about leaving those 12" barrels(maybe) to strike the raid boss down. She now equips a pair of metallic greaves compared to the leather boots and her stockings nicely end with her own petals at the top. I love the design but I gotta say the first look does not beat the second one. Good thing they allowed us to view both sides when they are our secretary.
     She was the first main strongest Witch/Majin/Demon(purple) type knight before any new ones were introduced. Her best friend and fellow 6★ is Ume-chan or "Plum". They both have almost exactly the same stats except for movement and evolution ability. The Hp, strength, defense, even added bonus from affection and skill is exactly the same. They come from the same region and have been best buds for the longest time according to game lore. In reality, their species are closely related so this friendship didn't just come out of nowhere! I don't have her but I wish I could let my Sakura reunite with her Ume as I do need a piercing type, plus the more rainbows, the merrier!

    Now outside of the game, her flower meaning is nice/gentle. Sakura is one of the national flowers of Japan and is deeply tied into Japanese tradition and culture. The life of a cherry blossom is very fleeting but meaningful. After they bloom in the spring, once they hit their peak at about 2 weeks, the petals start to fall till there is nothing left. During this time, people like to take picnics, drink, be merry, and have fun under the blossoming trees which is called Hanami or flower watching. Since they are really pretty but their life is so short, people symbolize them to human life in ways that we should make the most out of our life and make it beautiful since it is very short. In old times of the samurai, the government would use cherry blossoms to rally the troops and encourage them to live/fight their life to the fullest. Even in WW2, one of the kamikaze units were named yamazakura , after wild cherry blossoms to wreck as much havoc as they can with their life as their weapon. After the thousands of petals/pilots die, they then become reincarnated as a cherry blossom. Sakura can also mean a new beginning as Japanese schools start in april, the height of spring, around the time the cherry blossoms bloom. When watching the flowers at night, it is called Yozakura, and the illumination of the flowers really make them beautiful. I haven't had the chance to see them as I've only been to Japan in the summer really but I'd like to get a chance someday.

Yamato Nadeshiko?

     Well no not really, but there is a new character named Nadeshiko representing 'Pink' for the new rainbow knight. Her design is really shiny which reminds me of Black Bakkara and her sprite proudly stands with some nice flowy hair. The other gold characters are good looking too, both seem to wear traditional attire and have a sense of maturity around them. Though Hanashoubu looks graceful normally, she has a wild side to her which will make her quite exciting to have on your team. Even in the quest cutscenes, she goes like "ora ora Ora Ora ORA!" chasing after some pest baddies.

     A new month is here and it is summertime! Though not quite yet in Japan. Yes it's hot as hell there but people don't get their vacation until the middle of the next event. Who knows, maybe there will be something extra special in a couple weeks? If you have the patience to keep your hana stones through this events beauties, you may be rewarded with something great. No guarantees. And I am not a patient one tehe.

     The staff have blessed us with another round of double hana stones with the 5month anniversary campaign! Lasting until July 8th so that gives us a total of 20 Hana stones, or 18 if you didn't make it in time for reset. Also, they have a gacha campaign which gives bonus chance to girls in the Bergamot Valley region. They are,

Though rng may like to screw with you and give you one that is the farthest away from valley as it could be. It's hot so I'm going to find a way to be cold so I can work more on this. Hey Danchou!

Hey みんな！　元気デースか？Last week had a special login bonus rewards and a couple of them were the new gacha tickets that guaruntee you the same rairty of its kind and even higher % compared to normal for higher rarities! Bringing the rainbow rate up to a whole 7.5% for the gold gacha ticket! Developers are too nice. But I like that :)  Because of them I was able to get the Kongou of FKG, Hanamizuki! (or Dogwood )

My very 2nd rainbow! Not one that I was aiming for but still very excited. Now I have two op demon killers. For base stats, she has actually one of the highest dmg with 5000 being her max for atk along with Cattleya and Daisy having the same. Of course, abilities and skills can change who's actually on top. So when I got her, the first thing she says is "Hello!" and I'm like woah. And then I see a few english words in the dialogue. Interesting to see characters from other things trying to go the Engrish way like Kongou does since she was very popular. Buttttttttt sadly Hanamizuki isn't exactly up to par with her voice acting.... sounds a bit awkward at times(esp during the h-scene omg...) and just doesn't feel as natural compared to the very easy going Hei! Teitokuuu, Tea Time no jikan deeeeesu! like Touyama Nao(Kongou's cv). Short lines she can do fine but if it is like a paragraph, the pacing feels confusing. After a couple lessons from Nao-bou, I think she can do great. One line I do like is during the seed run that regenerates every 2 hours. "Are you ready?"

Her sprite is really well done and cute; she has a pretty cool attack animation as well. Ever watch Magi? Her dagger is like the mc(wat was his name again...) in which it has fire properties. She spins around with it creating a whip of fire and then unleashes it, letting her enemy taste a line of scorching heat in their face. Her skill is kinda interesting tho I don't really get it. She summons two rhinos with fire silhouettes and they charge right in with a fiery horned headbutt for 2.2 dmg each. They disappear right on atk which doesn't feel as strong compared to if they ran right through but o well.

New stages for the event are out now, get your 5-8 grinding doneee. The bosses now have a better chance to be of a higher lv so you can get more leaves to feed your beautiful Southern Cross. I know ppl kill them fast so just quickly get as many hits as you can on one and go for anotherXD
I just have two more left to go and I'm done. Really lacking the luck on spirit days though, It's just so hard to get the 100-year ones now. Using the life crystals I get to buy them now since I was able to get my rainbow flower. Purple/Yellow one is tomorrow, hope I can feed Dogwood all she can eat.

Out of the Darkness and Into the Wasteland!

It's that time of the month again! Our first June event is over and now we transition into the second one; if you guys got all the medals, be sure to check your present box. Your new girl is waiting along with a bunch of stat ups and gold. There were a few changes in this maintenance  having to do with quests and character abilities and stats.
 -I haven't checked them all but from now the Quests are ordered with dailies first and main 2nd tab-wise.
-On the event map of 4, the lv60 mobs there did some lethal damage to my knights. While that seems obvious, the numbers were quite high, numbering peak of 6kdmg to my 1300defense girl. I don't remember it being like that so I think they changed the damage modifiers.
*Actually their dmg hits hard for some chars and low for others regardless of defense, not sure what affects this, maybe type?*
-The character Suiren(or Water Lily) and her ability to evade attacks has been changed in a way that instead of applying her 30% dodge to every single attack, it now decides from the beginning of an attack whether it'll take all the hits or dodge the whole thing total.
 Example: the moth boss has both multi-hit attacks. Normally on every single hit she has a chance to dodge or take the hit but now that attack barrage counts as one. When it first hits, if it connects, she will be hit by all. But if she has the dodge indicator up, she won't be affected by the attack at all.

You know what happens when there's a new event, new girls! We have a new 3 set which includes two red and on blue type this time. The gacha theme for this event are those two types and are the main mob attributes in the event maps as well.

I Have Found My Flower Knight Princess...

The only thing I question, her loli look.

As you all know, an event is going on and along with that, the campaign for the new characters and their type. This time is Zan and that means higher chance for Black Bakkara!!! Or so I thought. I had enough Hana Stones saved up for a 11 roll so I gave it a try! Result was just orz. Highest thing was a 4 star, the disappointment was real. Though through this event they have been giving us alot of stones along with the 40,000 people playing rewards, I had a few more tries. Got a few new silvers but no golds, no rainbows, noone special. Until the royalty of the heavens decided to bestow its blessing upon me. That was where I first laid eyes on my very own Casablanca. I mean I've seen a few friends use her but with just that little icon and sprite, it can be hard to notice the hiddem gem until you see and hear her full character. The second my ears recieved the vibrations of her perfect voice filled with confidence, they melted and I just sat there with my mouth open and eyes opened wide. The most prideful and fierce of all royalty, Casablanca definitely stole my heart and questions me to put her as my secretary even though she is not close to max lvs yet. I am holding back, but as soon as I get the chance to farm those spirits, she is going to evolve and slice those pests like the noble knight she is and take the place as my secretary. Not to mention, I feel I recognize her voice from a game somewhere which is some nice bonus points.

When I first started FKG, I also stuck with a noble girl as my main knight. The two star named Amaryllis. Very proud to be a noble but not as confident, she was cute and tried hard to stay disciplined with her character. Luckily for me, even though she is a two star, she is among the most powerful of her grade and her attack and skill are both one-hit attacks, making for a single deadly shot which takes a nice chunk of the enemy's health bar at once. Until I recieved Sakura, she was my secretary since.
You can tell how much I like royalty and the main thing that gets me is the way they speak. Kikou, Buree, Ouzoku, Tami, Tsuitemaire, Hehhahahaha, that rich royal way of speaking just vitalizes me up. No bug will be able to stand in our way, fuhu....hu..hehahahahaha!
